So, this morning, in a fit of productiveness, I made coffee to bring with me, and a protein shake. LUCKILY (ha) before I walked out, The H woke up and reminded me that I was taking his car today, so he could get an oil change for me.
His car does not have usable cup holders.
The one day, ever, that I bring liquids in the car with me, no cup holders. So I now have coffee on my pants, and protein shake on his Miami Dolphins floor mat.
Teaches HIM to do nice things for me....

Saturday morning, I rolled out of bed around 7:20, grabbed some coffee, and headed outside to a lovely, overcast, cool morning... to spectate a race that started 1/2 mile down the street. I was slightly bummed that I wasn't running - I mean, stumbling out of bed at 7:20, and not having to park, expo, blah blah in PERFECT running weather?! What could be better?!
Oh. I know.
Stumbling out of bed, and walking across the street to cheer for runners running the race.
Sign making, obviously NOT my strength. I'm uber-uncreative. Also, of note, Sharpies and poster board are not really friends. Thankfully, I have a billion kids who have a billion markers. Crisis averted.

There was an abundance of Sparkle, a plethora of cowbell, my voice is still raspy, and more fun than should be possible for an early Saturday morning. Minus the mimosas = Irvine Police should thank us for our restraint.
I've seen this guy at a few races. Green man, who are you??
Yeah, so. That was fun. I'm hoping to do it again at Carlsbad in two weeks.... if anyone wants to join in the Sparkle fun....
I'm a mom. A reader. A sometime hiker. A wanna-be chef, an aspiring runner. I like tattoos, Indonesian food, Coach, pretending I can do Yoga, reading, preparing for the zombie apocolypse...

Three Things Thursday!
Workout Tuesday - ran 6 miles, steady, 10:42 pace. Easy peasy.
Hey, have you joined Team Tough Chik yet? Only a few days left! Click HERE for more info!
1. Any locals running the So Cal Half Marathon this weekend?? Let me know, I'll cheer for you! (But no, really, my house is on the course - I might be in pajamas and drinking coffee still, but I promise I'll be enthusiastic).
2. Tinker Bell bib numbers were released! Only three more weeks!
3. Huffington Post had a great article by Marcus Samuelsson (if you know who that is, we can be friends) on eating healthy without breaking the bank. Link HERE. One argument I hear a LOT is how expensive it is to eat healthy foods. I admit, I'm spoiled living in the land of abundant, cheap produce....
but almost all of the items in this article can be found in your local grocer, and are easily accessible. Supplement them with in season or FROZEN fruits and veggies, and you have a great, simple, economical foundation for eating healthy.
Like anything else, eating healthy is a matter of priority. If it's a priority, you find a way to make it happen.
If it's NOT a priority for you to eat healthy and exercise, that's 100% fine. That's absolutely YOUR prerogative, and I wouldn't judge you for making that choice. But don't pretty up your inability to stick to a workout schedule or spend an extra 10 minutes making a healthy dinner instead of drive through, by saying you can't.
I mean. You can try saying things like, "It's too expensive", or "I don't have the time", but... I'd probably look at you all side eyed.
Just do it. No excuses.
