I don't think it EVER gets easy.
I think, as a runner, your willingness to be uncomfortable and your pain threshold, they just increase. I know, because I'm practically an expert. I mean. I've been running for 6 months now.
Yes, in fact, I DID have a tough long run today. Why do you ask?
Bleh.
Giveaway next week, btw. I'm still fundraising for Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. Link is on my sidebar. I'm less than $175 away from my goal of $2000!
Happy weekend.
Totally agree with you! It definitely doesn't get 'easier' but pushing yourself is such a good feeling!
ReplyDeleteI'm so with Jenn.I love the accomplishment of finishing my long runs. Plus knowing that not just anyone can do this kind of torture to there bodies. Some long runs are good and some long runs are just plain miserable. Way to go on your long run today.
ReplyDeleteTotally what Jenn said. We just keep pushing ourselves. That's why we are AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteIt does take some rough ones to truly appreciate the wonderful ones as well, but that's not much help when you are knee deep in a rough one.
ReplyDeleteHope that the next one is brilliant!
I found a new favorite quote
ReplyDelete"I never said it was going to be easy, I am saying it will be worth it"
And we get faster too
Yeah, I keep having these fantastic visions of some day being able to run double digits with no problem. Okay fine, I dream of the day when 5 is no problem. Yet I figure it is just the impossible dream. But it sure does feel good when I do finish those hellish long runs!
