Let's Take a Break......

It's pretty Ragnar heavy this week, right?

So, the other day, we had an earthquake. Monday. It was small, I think 3.9 or something. I didn't feel it at my office, and my kids didn't feel it at school - only The H and Gabby felt it.

I've lived in SoCal for 3 years, and have yet to really feel an earthquake. We've missed the two moderate quakes since we've been here, because we were out of town for both.

It's like Mother Nature is thwarting me.

Anyway. Gab felt it, her first earthquake! When I got home from work, I was grilling her on it a little bit.

Me: Did you feel it?!

Gab: IT SHOOK THE WHOLE HOUSE LIKE {wiggle wiggle wiggle} <--this was extra super cute

Me: Was it CRAZY?

Gab: No. It was weird.

Me: Did you go under the table like you are supposed to??

Gab: No. I wanted to FEEL IT. It FREAKED ME OUT. I went like this:

Gabby is adorable! I've lived in Northern CA my whole life and have never felt an earthquake. :(

Haha, this post made me smile. My first earthquake was in Alaska. It was just after I went to bed. I accused Hubby of tossing and turning. He said it wasn't him. We both jumped out of bed and the whole room was shaking a little. Crazy.

I haven't felt any California ones, even though there have been some.

That is too funny! I think I would be happy to not feel/be in an earthquake, but maybe it's a right of passage like tornado warnings/sightings are here in Texas?

Gabby is super cute. Born & raised in California, I have felt MANY earthquakes. I will tell you that this recent one was very quick -- that's probably why you didn't feel it. Some of them go on for seemingly a very LONG time. I remember my first BIG earthquake still -- it was 70/71, I was in kindergarten. A 7 point something. Anyway, your daughter is very brave. Look up "The Triangle of Life," that is much better than getting under a table. Don't mean to be harsh, but tables go squash when roofs or heavy things fall on them.
Oh! And congrats on Ragnar. What fun!!

CUTE! --- but you know, I'd probably be trying to feel it all too and forget about the earthquake rules!
